CVE-2012-0260 – ImageMagick: excessive CPU use DoS by processing JPEG images with crafted restart markers
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2012-0260
The JPEGWarningHandler function in coders/jpeg.c in ImageMagick before 6.7.6-3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a JPEG image with a crafted sequence of restart markers. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-updates/2012-06/msg00001.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0544.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0545.html http://secunia.com/advisories/48974 http://secunia.com/advisories/49063 http://secunia.com/advisories/49068 http://secunia.com/advisories/49317 http://secunia.com/advisories/55035 http://secunia.com/advisories/57224 http://www.cert.fi/en/reports/2012/vulnerability635606.html http://www.debian.org/security/2012 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •
CVE-2012-0876 – expat: hash table collisions CPU usage DoS
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2012-0876
The XML parser (xmlparse.c) in expat before 2.1.0 computes hash values without restricting the ability to trigger hash collisions predictably, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via an XML file with many identifiers with the same value. A denial of service flaw was found in the implementation of hash arrays in Expat. An attacker could use this flaw to make an application using Expat consume an excessive amount of CPU time by providing a specially crafted XML file that triggers multiple hash function collisions. To mitigate this issue, randomization has been added to the hash function to reduce the chance of an attacker successfully causing intentional collisions. • http://bugs.python.org/issue13703#msg151870 http://lists.apple.com/archives/security-announce/2013/Oct/msg00004.html http://lists.apple.com/archives/security-announce/2015/Dec/msg00005.html http://mail.libexpat.org/pipermail/expat-discuss/2012-March/002768.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0731.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2016-0062.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2016-2957.html http://secunia.com/advisories/49504 http://secunia.com/advisories/51024 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption CWE-407: Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity •
CVE-2012-1097 – kernel: regset: Prevent null pointer reference on readonly regsets
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2012-1097
The regset (aka register set) feature in the Linux kernel before 3.2.10 does not properly handle the absence of .get and .set methods, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a (1) PTRACE_GETREGSET or (2) PTRACE_SETREGSET ptrace call. • http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=c8e252586f8d5de906385d8cf6385fee289a825e http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2012-04/msg00021.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2012-05/msg00013.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0481.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0531.html http://secunia.com/advisories/48842 http://secunia.com/advisories/48898 http://secunia.com/advisories/48964 http://www.k • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
CVE-2012-1090 – kernel: cifs: dentry refcount leak when opening a FIFO on lookup leads to panic on unmount
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2012-1090
The cifs_lookup function in fs/cifs/dir.c in the Linux kernel before 3.2.10 allows local users to cause a denial of service (OOPS) via attempted access to a special file, as demonstrated by a FIFO. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2012-04/msg00021.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2012-05/msg00013.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0481.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0531.html http://secunia.com/advisories/48842 http://secunia.com/advisories/48964 http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/ChangeLog-3.2.10 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2012/02/28/4 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •
CVE-2012-0037 – raptor: XML External Entity (XXE) attack via RDF files

Redland Raptor (aka libraptor) before 2.0.7, as used by OpenOffice 3.3 and 3.4 Beta, LibreOffice before 3.4.6 and 3.5.x before 3.5.1, and other products, allows user-assisted remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted XML external entity (XXE) declaration and reference in an RDF document. • http://blog.documentfoundation.org/2012/03/22/tdf-announces-libreoffice-3-4-6 http://librdf.org/raptor/RELEASE.html#rel2_0_7 http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2012-April/077708.html http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2012-April/078242.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0410.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0411.html http://secunia.com/advisories/48479 http://secunia.com/advisories/48493 http://secunia.com/advisories& • CWE-611: Improper Restriction of XML External Entity Reference •
