Eaton Power Xpert Meter 4000, 6000, and 8000 devices before 13.4.0.10 have a single SSH private key across different customers' installations and do not properly restrict access to this key, which makes it easier for remote attackers to perform SSH logins (to uid 0) via the PubkeyAuthentication option. Eaton Power Xpert Meters running firmware below version 12.x.x.x or below version 13.3.x.x ship with a public/private key pair that facilitate remote administrative access to the devices. Tested on: Firmware 12.1.9.1 and 13.3.2.10. • http://www.eaton.com/content/dam/eaton/company/news-insights/cybersecurity/security-bulletins/PXM-Advisory.pdf https://github.com/BrianWGray/msf/blob/master/exploits/linux/ssh/eaton_known_privkey.rb https://www.ctrlu.net/vuln/0006.html https://www.eaton.com/content/dam/eaton/company/news-insights/cybersecurity/security-bulletins/PXM-Advisory.pdf • CWE-798: Use of Hard-coded Credentials •
