CVE-2024-6387 – Openssh: regresshion - race condition in ssh allows rce/dos
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-6387
A security regression (CVE-2006-5051) was discovered in OpenSSH's server (sshd). There is a race condition which can lead sshd to handle some signals in an unsafe manner. An unauthenticated, remote attacker may be able to trigger it by failing to authenticate within a set time period. • https://github.com/l0n3m4n/CVE-2024-6387 https://github.com/thegenetic/CVE-2024-6387-exploit https://github.com/d0rb/CVE-2024-6387 https://github.com/devarshishimpi/CVE-2024-6387-Check https://github.com/AiGptCode/ssh_exploiter_CVE-2024-6387 https://github.com/Symbolexe/CVE-2024-6387 https://github.com/xonoxitron/regreSSHion https://github.com/PrincipalAnthony/CVE-2024-6387-Updated-x64bit https://github.com/4lxprime/regreSSHive https://github.com/shamo0/CVE-2024-6387_PoC https: • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') CWE-364: Signal Handler Race Condition •
CVE-2023-51765
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-51765
sendmail through 8.17.2 allows SMTP smuggling in certain configurations. Remote attackers can use a published exploitation technique to inject e-mail messages with a spoofed MAIL FROM address, allowing bypass of an SPF protection mechanism. This occurs because sendmail supports <LF>.<CR><LF> but some other popular e-mail servers do not. This is resolved in 8.18 and later versions with 'o' in srv_features. sendmail hasta al menos 8.14.7 permite el contrabando SMTP en ciertas configuraciones. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/24/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/25/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/26/5 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/29/5 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/30/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/12/30/3 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-51765 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2255869 ht • CWE-345: Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity •
CVE-2023-48795 – ssh: Prefix truncation attack on Binary Packet Protocol (BPP)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-48795
The SSH transport protocol with certain OpenSSH extensions, found in OpenSSH before 9.6 and other products, allows remote attackers to bypass integrity checks such that some packets are omitted (from the extension negotiation message), and a client and server may consequently end up with a connection for which some security features have been downgraded or disabled, aka a Terrapin attack. This occurs because the SSH Binary Packet Protocol (BPP), implemented by these extensions, mishandles the handshake phase and mishandles use of sequence numbers. For example, there is an effective attack against SSH's use of ChaCha20-Poly1305 (and CBC with Encrypt-then-MAC). The bypass occurs in chacha20-poly1305@openssh.com and (if CBC is used) the -etm@openssh.com MAC algorithms. CVE-2023-5941 – libc stdio buffer overflow
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-5941
In versions of FreeBSD 12.4-RELEASE prior to 12.4-RELEASE-p7 and FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE prior to 13.2-RELEASE-p5 the __sflush() stdio function in libc does not correctly update FILE objects' write space members for write-buffered streams when the write(2) system call returns an error. Depending on the nature of an application that calls libc's stdio functions and the presence of errors returned from the write(2) system call (or an overridden stdio write routine) a heap buffer overflow may occur. Such overflows may lead to data corruption or the execution of arbitrary code at the privilege level of the calling program. • https://security.freebsd.org/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-23:15.stdio.asc https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20231214-0004 • CWE-131: Incorrect Calculation of Buffer Size CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
CVE-2023-5368 – msdosfs data disclosure
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-5368
On an msdosfs filesystem, the 'truncate' or 'ftruncate' system calls under certain circumstances populate the additional space in the file with unallocated data from the underlying disk device, rather than zero bytes. This may permit a user with write access to files on a msdosfs filesystem to read unintended data (e.g. from a previously deleted file). • https://dfir.ru/2023/11/01/bringing-unallocated-data-back-the-fat12-16-32-case https://security.FreeBSD.org/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-23:12.msdosfs.asc https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20231124-0004 • CWE-1188: Initialization of a Resource with an Insecure Default •
