Certain Lexmark devices through 2023-02-19 mishandle Input Validation (issue 1 of 4). This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Lexmark MC3224i printers. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the lbtraceapp binary. The code loads a binary from an unsecured location.
