kdc/do_tgs_req.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) 1.21 before 1.21.2 has a double free that is reachable if an authenticated user can trigger an authorization-data handling failure. A vulnerability was found in MIT krb5, where an authenticated attacker can cause a KDC to free the same pointer twice if it can induce a failure in authorization data handling. • https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/88a1701b423c13991a8064feeb26952d3641d840 https://github.com/krb5/krb5/compare/krb5-1.21.1-final...krb5-1.21.2-final https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230915-0014 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20240201-0005 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20240201-0008 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/www/advisories https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-39975 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2232682 • CWE-415: Double Free •

lib/kadm5/kadm_rpc_xdr.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.20.2 and 1.21.x before 1.21.1 frees an uninitialized pointer. A remote authenticated user can trigger a kadmind crash. This occurs because _xdr_kadm5_principal_ent_rec does not validate the relationship between n_key_data and the key_data array count. A vulnerability was found in the _xdr_kadm5_principal_ent_rec() function in lib/kadm5/kadm_rpc_xdr.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5). This issue occurs due to lack of validation in the relationship between n_key_data and the key_data array count, leading to the freeing of uninitialized pointers. • https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/ef08b09c9459551aabbe7924fb176f1583053cdd https://github.com/krb5/krb5/compare/krb5-1.20.1-final...krb5-1.20.2-final https://github.com/krb5/krb5/compare/krb5-1.21-final...krb5-1.21.1-final https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00031.html https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230908-0004 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/www/advisories https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-36054 https://bugzilla.redhat.com&#x • CWE-824: Access of Uninitialized Pointer •

PAC parsing in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.19.4 and 1.20.x before 1.20.1 has integer overflows that may lead to remote code execution (in KDC, kadmind, or a GSS or Kerberos application server) on 32-bit platforms (which have a resultant heap-based buffer overflow), and cause a denial of service on other platforms. This occurs in krb5_pac_parse in lib/krb5/krb/pac.c. Heimdal before 7.7.1 has "a similar bug." • https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15203 https://github.com/heimdal/heimdal/security/advisories/GHSA-64mq-fvfj-5x3c https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/ea92d2f0fcceb54a70910fa32e9a0d7a5afc3583 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202309-06 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202310-06 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230216-0008 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230223-0001 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/advisories https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/krb5-1.19 https://web& • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound •

telnetd in GNU Inetutils through 2.3, MIT krb5-appl through 1.0.3, and derivative works has a NULL pointer dereference via 0xff 0xf7 or 0xff 0xf8. In a typical installation, the telnetd application would crash but the telnet service would remain available through inetd. However, if the telnetd application has many crashes within a short time interval, the telnet service would become unavailable after inetd logs a "telnet/tcp server failing (looping), service terminated" error. NOTE: MIT krb5-appl is not supported upstream but is shipped by a few Linux distributions. The affected code was removed from the supported MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) product many years ago, at version 1.8. telnetd en GNU Inetutils versiones hasta 2.3, MIT krb5-appl versiones hasta 1.0.3, y trabajos derivados presenta una desreferencia de puntero NULL por medio de 0xff 0xf7 o 0xff 0xf8. • https://git.hadrons.org/cgit/debian/pkgs/inetutils.git/commit/?id=113da8021710d871c7dd72d2a4d5615d42d64289 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00033.html https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-inetutils/2022-08/msg00002.html https://pierrekim.github.io/blog/2022-08-24-2-byte-dos-freebsd-netbsd-telnetd-netkit-telnetd-inetutils-telnetd-kerberos-telnetd.html • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •

The Key Distribution Center (KDC) in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.18.5 and 1.19.x before 1.19.3 has a NULL pointer dereference in kdc/do_tgs_req.c via a FAST inner body that lacks a server field.
