lib/kadm5/kadm_rpc_xdr.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.20.2 and 1.21.x before 1.21.1 frees an uninitialized pointer. A remote authenticated user can trigger a kadmind crash. This occurs because _xdr_kadm5_principal_ent_rec does not validate the relationship between n_key_data and the key_data array count. A vulnerability was found in the _xdr_kadm5_principal_ent_rec() function in lib/kadm5/kadm_rpc_xdr.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5). This issue occurs due to lack of validation in the relationship between n_key_data and the key_data array count, leading to the freeing of uninitialized pointers. • https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/ef08b09c9459551aabbe7924fb176f1583053cdd https://github.com/krb5/krb5/compare/krb5-1.20.1-final...krb5-1.20.2-final https://github.com/krb5/krb5/compare/krb5-1.21-final...krb5-1.21.1-final https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00031.html https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230908-0004 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/www/advisories https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-36054 https://bugzilla.redhat.com&#x • CWE-824: Access of Uninitialized Pointer •

telnetd in GNU Inetutils through 2.3, MIT krb5-appl through 1.0.3, and derivative works has a NULL pointer dereference via 0xff 0xf7 or 0xff 0xf8. In a typical installation, the telnetd application would crash but the telnet service would remain available through inetd. However, if the telnetd application has many crashes within a short time interval, the telnet service would become unavailable after inetd logs a "telnet/tcp server failing (looping), service terminated" error. NOTE: MIT krb5-appl is not supported upstream but is shipped by a few Linux distributions. The affected code was removed from the supported MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) product many years ago, at version 1.8. telnetd en GNU Inetutils versiones hasta 2.3, MIT krb5-appl versiones hasta 1.0.3, y trabajos derivados presenta una desreferencia de puntero NULL por medio de 0xff 0xf7 o 0xff 0xf8. • https://git.hadrons.org/cgit/debian/pkgs/inetutils.git/commit/?id=113da8021710d871c7dd72d2a4d5615d42d64289 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00033.html https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-inetutils/2022-08/msg00002.html https://pierrekim.github.io/blog/2022-08-24-2-byte-dos-freebsd-netbsd-telnetd-netkit-telnetd-inetutils-telnetd-kerberos-telnetd.html • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •

The Key Distribution Center (KDC) in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.18.5 and 1.19.x before 1.19.3 has a NULL pointer dereference in kdc/do_tgs_req.c via a FAST inner body that lacks a server field. A flaw was found in krb5. The Key Distribution Center (KDC) in MIT Kerberos 5 has a NULL pointer dereference via a FAST inner body that lacks a server field. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to crash the Kerberos KDC server. • https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/d775c95af7606a51bf79547a94fa52ddd1cb7f49 https://github.com/krb5/krb5/releases https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/09/msg00019.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/MFCLW7D46E4VCREKKH453T5DA4XOLHU2 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210923-0002 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/advisories https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://www.starwindsoftware.com/security/sw-20220817-0004 https& • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •

ec_verify in kdc/kdc_preauth_ec.c in the Key Distribution Center (KDC) in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.18.4 and 1.19.x before 1.19.2 allows remote attackers to cause a NULL pointer dereference and daemon crash. This occurs because a return value is not properly managed in a certain situation. A flaw was found in krb5. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a NULL dereference in the KDC by sending a request containing a PA-ENCRYPTED-CHALLENGE padata element without using FAST. • https://github.com/krb5/krb5/commit/fc98f520caefff2e5ee9a0026fdf5109944b3562 https://github.com/krb5/krb5/releases https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20211022-0003 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20211104-0007 https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/advisories https://www.debian.org/security/2021/dsa-4944 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuoct2021.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-36222 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1983720 • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
