CVE-2023-22467 – luxon.js inefficient regular expression complexity vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-22467
Luxon is a library for working with dates and times in JavaScript. On the 1.x branch prior to 1.38.1, the 2.x branch prior to 2.5.2, and the 3.x branch on 3.2.1, Luxon's `DateTime.fromRFC2822() has quadratic (N^2) complexity on some specific inputs. This causes a noticeable slowdown for inputs with lengths above 10k characters. Users providing untrusted data to this method are therefore vulnerable to (Re)DoS attacks. This issue also appears in Moment as CVE-2022-31129. • https://github.com/moment/luxon/commit/5ab3bf64a10da929a437629cdb2f059bb83212bf https://github.com/moment/luxon/security/advisories/GHSA-3xq5-wjfh-ppjc https://github.com/moment/moment/pull/6015#issuecomment-1152961973 https://github.com/moment/moment/security/advisories/GHSA-wc69-rhjr-hc9g https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/44I3WAJKYXDLOVYRGMHAUXMIV4SPFXDZ https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/4LIVOASKBQH7FEUI5RWM3SOHR6VK7ZZR https • CWE-1333: Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity •
CVE-2022-31129 – Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity in moment
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-31129
moment is a JavaScript date library for parsing, validating, manipulating, and formatting dates. Affected versions of moment were found to use an inefficient parsing algorithm. Specifically using string-to-date parsing in moment (more specifically rfc2822 parsing, which is tried by default) has quadratic (N^2) complexity on specific inputs. Users may notice a noticeable slowdown is observed with inputs above 10k characters. Users who pass user-provided strings without sanity length checks to moment constructor are vulnerable to (Re)DoS attacks. • https://github.com/moment/moment/commit/9a3b5894f3d5d602948ac8a02e4ee528a49ca3a3 https://github.com/moment/moment/pull/6015#issuecomment-1152961973 https://github.com/moment/moment/security/advisories/GHSA-wc69-rhjr-hc9g https://huntr.dev/bounties/f0952b67-f2ff-44a9-a9cd-99e0a87cb633 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/01/msg00035.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/6QIO6YNLTK2T7SPKDS4JEL45FANLNC2Q https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package- • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption CWE-1333: Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity •
CVE-2022-24785 – Path Traversal in Moment.js
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-24785
Moment.js is a JavaScript date library for parsing, validating, manipulating, and formatting dates. A path traversal vulnerability impacts npm (server) users of Moment.js between versions 1.0.1 and 2.29.1, especially if a user-provided locale string is directly used to switch moment locale. This problem is patched in 2.29.2, and the patch can be applied to all affected versions. As a workaround, sanitize the user-provided locale name before passing it to Moment.js. Moment.js es una librería de fechas en JavaScript para analizar, comprobar, manipular y formatear fechas. • https://github.com/moment/moment/commit/4211bfc8f15746be4019bba557e29a7ba83d54c5 https://github.com/moment/moment/security/advisories/GHSA-8hfj-j24r-96c4 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/01/msg00035.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/6QIO6YNLTK2T7SPKDS4JEL45FANLNC2Q https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/ORJX2LF6KMPIHP6B2P6KZIVKMLE3LVJ5 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220513-0006 https://www& • CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') CWE-27: Path Traversal: 'dir/../../filename' •
CVE-2017-18214 – nodejs-moment: Regular expression denial of service
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-18214
The moment module before 2.19.3 for Node.js is prone to a regular expression denial of service via a crafted date string, a different vulnerability than CVE-2016-4055. El módulo moment en versiones anteriores a la 2.19.3 para Node.js es propenso a una denegación de servicio de expresión regular (DoS) mediante una cadena de fecha manipulada. Esta vulnerabilidad es diferente de CVE-2016-4055. • https://github.com/ossf-cve-benchmark/CVE-2017-18214 https://github.com/moment/moment/issues/4163 https://nodesecurity.io/advisories/532 https://www.tenable.com/security/tns-2019-02 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2017-18214 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1553413 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •
CVE-2016-4055
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-4055
The duration function in the moment package before 2.11.2 for Node.js allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a long string, aka a "regular expression Denial of Service (ReDoS)." • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2016/04/20/11 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2018-4258247.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/95849 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/10f0f3aefd51444d1198c65f44ffdf2d78ca3359423dbc1c168c9731%40%3Cdev.flink.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/17ff53f7999e74fbe3cc0ceb4e1c3b00b180b7c5afec8e978837bc49%40%3Cuser.flink.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/52bafac05ad174000ea465fe275fd3cc7bd5c25535a7631c0bc9bfb2%40%3Cuser.flink.apache.org%3E https:/ • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •
