The c_rehash script does not properly sanitise shell metacharacters to prevent command injection. This script is distributed by some operating systems in a manner where it is automatically executed. On such operating systems, an attacker could execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the script. Use of the c_rehash script is considered obsolete and should be replaced by the OpenSSL rehash command line tool. Fixed in OpenSSL 3.0.3 (Affected 3.0.0,3.0.1,3.0.2). • https://github.com/alcaparra/CVE-2022-1292 https://github.com/li8u99/CVE-2022-1292 https://github.com/greek0x0/CVE-2022-1292 https://github.com/rama291041610/CVE-2022-1292 https://github.com/und3sc0n0c1d0/CVE-2022-1292 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-953464.pdf https://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git%3Ba=commitdiff%3Bh=1ad73b4d27bd8c1b369a3cd453681d3a4f1bb9b2 https://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git%3Ba=commitdiff%3Bh=548d3f280a6e737673f5b61fce24bb100108dfeb https://git • CWE-77: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') CWE-78: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') •

valid.c in libxml2 before 2.9.13 has a use-after-free of ID and IDREF attributes. El archivo valid.c en libxml2 versiones anteriores a 2.9.13, presenta un uso de memoria previamente liberada de los atributos ID e IDREF. A flaw was found in libxml2. A call to the xmlGetID function can return a pointer already freed when parsing an XML document with the XML_PARSE_DTDVALID option and without the XML_PARSE_NOENT option, resulting in a use-after-free issue. • http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/33 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/34 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/35 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/36 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/37 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/May/38 https://github.com/GNOME/libxml2/commit/652dd12a858989b14eed4e84e453059cd3ba340e https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/blob/v2.9.13/NEWS https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/04/msg00004. • CWE-416: Use After Free •

Node.js < 12.22.9, < 14.18.3, < 16.13.2, and < 17.3.1 did not handle multi-value Relative Distinguished Names correctly. Attackers could craft certificate subjects containing a single-value Relative Distinguished Name that would be interpreted as a multi-value Relative Distinguished Name, for example, in order to inject a Common Name that would allow bypassing the certificate subject verification.Affected versions of Node.js that do not accept multi-value Relative Distinguished Names and are thus not vulnerable to such attacks themselves. However, third-party code that uses node's ambiguous presentation of certificate subjects may be vulnerable. • https://hackerone.com/reports/1429694 https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/jan-2022-security-releases https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220325-0007 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5170 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022.html https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-44533 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2040856 • CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation •

Node.js < 12.22.9, < 14.18.3, < 16.13.2, and < 17.3.1 converts SANs (Subject Alternative Names) to a string format. It uses this string to check peer certificates against hostnames when validating connections. The string format was subject to an injection vulnerability when name constraints were used within a certificate chain, allowing the bypass of these name constraints.Versions of Node.js with the fix for this escape SANs containing the problematic characters in order to prevent the injection. This behavior can be reverted through the --security-revert command-line option. • https://hackerone.com/reports/1429694 https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/jan-2022-security-releases https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220325-0007 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5170 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022.html https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-44532 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2040846 • CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation CWE-296: Improper Following of a Certificate's Chain of Trust •

Accepting arbitrary Subject Alternative Name (SAN) types, unless a PKI is specifically defined to use a particular SAN type, can result in bypassing name-constrained intermediates. Node.js < 12.22.9, < 14.18.3, < 16.13.2, and < 17.3.1 was accepting URI SAN types, which PKIs are often not defined to use. Additionally, when a protocol allows URI SANs, Node.js did not match the URI correctly.Versions of Node.js with the fix for this disable the URI SAN type when checking a certificate against a hostname. This behavior can be reverted through the --security-revert command-line option. Aceptar tipos de nombres alternativos de sujeto (SAN) arbitrarios, a menos que una PKI esté definida específicamente para usar un tipo de SAN concreto, puede resultar en una omisión de los intermediarios con restricción de nombre. • https://hackerone.com/reports/1429694 https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/jan-2022-security-releases https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220325-0007 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5170 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022.html https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-44531 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2040839 • CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation •
