A memory disclosure vulnerability was found in PostgreSQL that allows remote users to access sensitive information by exploiting certain aggregate function calls with 'unknown'-type arguments. Handling 'unknown'-type values from string literals without type designation can disclose bytes, potentially revealing notable and confidential information. This issue exists due to excessive data output in aggregate function calls, enabling remote users to read some portion of system memory. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7545 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7579 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7580 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7581 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7616 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7656 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7666 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7694 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA • CWE-686: Function Call With Incorrect Argument Type •

A flaw was found in PostgreSQL that allows authenticated database users to execute arbitrary code through missing overflow checks during SQL array value modification. This issue exists due to an integer overflow during array modification where a remote user can trigger the overflow by providing specially crafted data. This enables the execution of arbitrary code on the target system, allowing users to write arbitrary bytes to memory and extensively read the server's memory. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7545 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7579 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7580 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7581 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7616 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7656 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7666 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7694 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound •

A flaw was found in PostgreSQL involving the pg_cancel_backend role that signals background workers, including the logical replication launcher, autovacuum workers, and the autovacuum launcher. Successful exploitation requires a non-core extension with a less-resilient background worker and would affect that specific background worker only. This issue may allow a remote high privileged user to launch a denial of service (DoS) attack. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7545 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7579 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7580 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7581 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7616 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7656 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7666 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7694 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •

IN THE EXTENSION SCRIPT, a SQL Injection vulnerability was found in PostgreSQL if it uses @extowner@, @extschema@, or @extschema:...@ inside a quoting construct (dollar quoting, '', or ""). If an administrator has installed files of a vulnerable, trusted, non-bundled extension, an attacker with database-level CREATE privilege can execute arbitrary code as the bootstrap superuser. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7545 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7579 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7580 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7581 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7616 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7656 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7666 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7694 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA • CWE-89: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') •

aiven-extras is a PostgreSQL extension. Versions prior to 1.1.9 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability, allowing elevation to superuser inside PostgreSQL databases that use the aiven-extras package. The vulnerability leverages missing schema qualifiers on privileged functions called by the aiven-extras extension. A low privileged user can create objects that collide with existing function names, which will then be executed instead. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow a low privileged user to acquire `superuser` privileges, which would allow full, unrestricted access to all data and database functions. • https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/commit/8682ae01bec0791708bf25791786d776e2fb0250 https://github.com/aiven/aiven-extras/security/advisories/GHSA-7r4w-fw4h-67gp https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230616-0006 • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation CWE-1321: Improperly Controlled Modification of Object Prototype Attributes ('Prototype Pollution') •
