CVE-2024-5199 – Spotify Play Button <= 1.0 - Contributor+ Stored XSS
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-5199
The Spotify Play Button WordPress plugin through 1.0 does not validate and escape some of its shortcode attributes before outputting them back in a page/post where the shortcode is embed, which could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. The Spotify Play Button plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's spotify-play shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 1.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. • https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/a2cb8d7d-6d7c-42e9-b3db-cb3959bfd41b • CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') •
