The Modern Events Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 7.12.1 via the 'mec_fes_form' AJAX function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to make web requests to arbitrary locations originating from the web application and can be used to query and modify information from internal services. • https://mec.webnus.net/change-log https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/modern-events-calendar-lite/trunk/app/features/fes.php#L54 https://wordpress.org/plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/#developers https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/00bf8f2f-6ab4-4430-800b-5b97abe7589e?source=cve • CWE-918: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) •

The Modern Events Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the set_featured_image function in all versions up to, and including, 7.11.0. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. The plugin allows administrators (via its settings) to extend the ability to submit events to unauthenticated users, which would allow unauthenticated attackers to exploit this vulnerability. • https://webnus.net/modern-events-calendar https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/0c007090-9d9b-4ee7-8f77-91abd4373051?source=cve • CWE-434: Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type •
