Dank der Manipulation mit unbekannten Daten kann eine cross site scripting-Schwachstelle ausgenutzt werden. Umgesetzt werden kann der Angriff über das Netzwerk. Ein Aktualisieren auf die Version 0.8.1 vermag dieses Problem zu lösen. Der Patch wird als 0842af8f8a556bc3e39b9ef758173b0a8a9ccbfc bezeichnet. Als bestmögliche Massnahme wird das Einspielen eines Upgrades empfohlen.

The Debug Bar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to the use of add_query_arg without appropriate escaping on the URL in all versions up to, and including, 0.8. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
