Descriptions

An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. macOS before 10.12.2 is affected. The issue involves the "Bluetooth" component. It allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (type confusion) via a crafted app.

This vulnerability allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Apple OS X. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of the AppleBroadcomBluetoothHostController kext. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data which can result in a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges under the context of the kernel.

Mac OS suffers from a kernel code execution vulnerability due to writable privileged IOKit registry properties.
