A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Microsoft Edge in the way that the Chakra JavaScript engine renders when handling objects in memory, aka "Scripting Engine Memory Corruption Vulnerability." This CVE ID is unique from CVE-2017-0224, CVE-2017-0228, CVE-2017-0229, CVE-2017-0230, CVE-2017-0235, CVE-2017-0236, and CVE-2017-0238.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Edge. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of ArrayBuffer objects in JavaScript. By performing actions in JavaScript, an attacker can cause a pointer to be reused after it has been freed. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code under the context of the current process.
