Microsoft Excel 2016 Click-to-Run (C2R) allows an attacker to run arbitrary code in the context of the current user by failing to properly handle objects in memory, aka "Microsoft Office Memory Corruption Vulnerability". This CVE ID is unique from CVE-2017-11882.

Click-to-Run (C2R) de Microsoft Excel 2016 permite que un atacante ejecute código arbitrario en el contexto del usuario actual al no gestionar correctamente los objetos en la memoria. Esto también se conoce como "Microsoft Office Memory Corruption Vulnerability". El ID de este CVE es diferente de CVE-2017-11882.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Excel. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of XLS files. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute under the context of the current process.
