Memory safety bugs were reported in Firefox 56. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort that some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 57.
Multiple security issues were discovered in Firefox. If a user were tricked in to opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service, read uninitialized memory, obtain sensitive information, bypass same-origin restrictions, bypass CSP protections, bypass mixed content blocking, spoof the addressbar, or execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.
