Delta Electronics ISPSoft version 3.0.5 and prior allow an attacker, by opening a crafted file, to cause the application to read past the boundary allocated to a stack object, which could allow execution of code under the context of the application.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Delta Industrial Automation ISPSoft. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of fields in DVP files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
