An issue was discovered in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library (aka libbfd), as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.31. An invalid memory access exists in bfd_zalloc in opncls.c. Attackers could leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted ELF file.
Se ha detectado una vulnerabilidad en la biblioteca Binary File Descriptor (BFD), también conocida como libbfd, tal y como se distribuye en GNU Binutils 2.31. Existe un acceso a memoria no válida en bfd_zalloc en opncls.c. Los atacantes pueden aprovechar esta vulnerabilidad para provocar una denegación de servicio (cierre inesperado de la aplicación) mediante un archivo ELF manipulado.
