A type confusion vulnerability exists when processing project files in CX-Supervisor (Versions 3.42 and prior). An attacker could use a specially crafted project file to exploit and execute code under the privileges of the application.

Existe una vulnerabilidad de confusión de tipo cuando se procesan archivos de proyecto en CX-Supervisor, en sus versiones 3.42 y anteriores. Un atacante podría usar un archivo de proyecto especialmente manipulado para explotar y ejecutar código con los privilegios de la aplicación.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of OMRON CX-Supervisor. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of SCS files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
