Descriptions
An out-of-bounds read issue existed that led to the disclosure of kernel memory. This was addressed with improved input validation. This issue affected versions prior to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6.
Existía un problema de lectura fuera de límites que conducía a la divulgación de memoria del kernel. Este problema se abordó con una validación de entradas mejorada. Este problema afectaba a macOS High Sierra en versiones anteriores a la 10.13.6.
This vulnerability allows local attackers to disclose sensitive information on vulnerable installations of Apple macOS. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of the IOGraphics kext. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code under the context of the kernel.
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6, Security Update 2018-004 Sierra, Security Update 2018-004 El Capitan address buffer overflow, code execution, denial of service, information leakage, and null pointer vulnerabilities.
