Descriptions
The Quagga BGP daemon (bgpd) prior to version 1.2.3 does not properly bounds check the data sent with a NOTIFY to a peer, if an attribute length is invalid. Arbitrary data from the bgpd process may be sent over the network to a peer and/or bgpd may crash.
It was discovered that a double-free vulnerability existed in the Quagga BGP daemon when processing certain forms of UPDATE message. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that the Quagga BGP daemon did not properly bounds check the data sent with a NOTIFY to a peer. An attacker could use this to expose sensitive information or possibly cause a denial of service. This issue only affected Ubuntu 17.10. Various other issues were also addressed.
