Un problema de corrupción de memoria fue abordado mejorando el manejo de la memoria. Este problema es corregido en macOS Mojave versión 10.14.6. Una aplicación puede ejecutar código arbitrario con privilegios system.
This vulnerability allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Apple macOS. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target guest system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the diskmanagementd daemon. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the kernel.
macOS Mojave 10.14.6, Security Update 2019-004 High Sierra, Security Update 2019-004 Sierra are now available and address bypass, code execution, and use-after-free vulnerabilities.
