Descriptions

Adobe InCopy version 16.0 (and earlier) is affected by an path traversal vulnerability when parsing a crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve remote code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Adobe InCopy. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the conversion of DOCX files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user.
