Mozilla developers and community members reported memory safety bugs present in Firefox 87. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 88.

Multiple security issues were discovered in Firefox. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service, spoof the browser UI, bypass security restrictions, trick the user into disclosing confidential information, or execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.
