Mozilla developers reported memory safety bugs present in Firefox 88 and Firefox ESR 78.11. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 78.11, Firefox < 89, and Firefox ESR < 78.11.

Multiple security issues were discovered in Firefox. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service, re-enable camera devices without an additional permission prompt, spoof the browser UI, or execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that filenames printed from private browsing mode were incorrectly retained in preferences. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to obtain sensitive information. Various other issues were also addressed.
