Acrobat Reader DC versions 2021.005.20054 (and earlier), 2020.004.30005 (and earlier) and 2017.011.30197 (and earlier) are affected by an Type Confusion vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to read arbitrary system information in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the getAnnots method. When parsing the nPage parameter, the process does not properly validate user-supplied data, which can result in a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
