An issue was discovered in SaltStack Salt in versions before 3002.8, 3003.4, 3004.1. A minion authentication denial of service can cause a MiTM attacker to force a minion process to stop by impersonating a master.

An update that fixes four vulnerabilities is now available. This update for salt fixes the following issues. Sign authentication replies to prevent MiTM Sign pillar data to prevent MiTM attacks. Prevent job and fileserver replays. Fixed targeting bug, especially visible when using syndic and user auth.
