Descriptions
Mozilla developers and community members Randell Jesup, Sebastian Hengst, and the Mozilla Fuzzing Team reported memory safety bugs present in Firefox 98. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 99.
Multiple security issues were discovered in Firefox. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service, execute script unexpectedly, obtain sensitive information, conduct spoofing attacks, or execute arbitrary code. A security issue was discovered with the sourceMapURL feature of devtools. An attacker could potentially exploit this to include local files that should have been inaccessible.
