Descriptions

The User Role by BestWebSoft WordPress plugin before 1.6.7 does not protect against CSRF in requests to update role capabilities, leading to arbitrary privilege escalation of any role.

The User Role by BestWebSoft plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.6.6. This is due to missing nonce validation in the edit-role-page.php file. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the capabilities of individual roles to elevate individual user privileges via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
