Descriptions

An issue was discovered in drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb_main.c in the IGB driver in the Linux kernel before 6.5.3. A buffer size may not be adequate for frames larger than the MTU.

Se descubrió un problema en drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb_main.c en el controlador IGB en el kernel de Linux anterior a 6.5.3. Es posible que un tamaño de búfer no sea adecuado para tramas más grandes que la MTU.

A flaw was found in igb_configure_rx_ring in drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb_main.c in the IGB driver in the Linux kernel. An overflow of the contents from a packet that is too large will overflow into the kernel's ring buffer, leading to a system integrity issue.

Yu Hao discovered that the UBI driver in the Linux kernel did not properly check for MTD with zero erasesize during device attachment. A local privileged attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. Manfred Rudigier discovered that the Intel PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet driver in the Linux kernel did not properly validate received frames that are larger than the set MTU size, leading to a buffer overflow vulnerability. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
