Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: RAPID). Supported versions that are affected are 8.0.35 and prior and 8.2.0 and prior. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server. A flaw was found in MySQL Server RAPID. This vulnerability allows a malicious user with low privileges and network access to compromise the MySQL Server. A successful attack can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang, or a frequently repeatable crash, a complete denial of service DOS), of MySQL Server.

Multiple security issues were discovered in MySQL and this update includes new upstream MySQL versions to fix these issues. MySQL has been updated to 8.0.36 in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 23.10. In addition to security fixes, the updated packages contain bug fixes, new features, and possibly incompatible changes.
