A buffer overflow issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in macOS Monterey 12.7.4, macOS Ventura 13.6.5, macOS Sonoma 14.4, visionOS 1.1, iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4, watchOS 10.4, iOS 16.7.6 and iPadOS 16.7.6, tvOS 17.4. Processing an image may lead to arbitrary code execution.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Apple macOS. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the CoreGraphics framework. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process.

macOS Sonoma 14.4 addresses buffer overflow, bypass, code execution, out of bounds read, out of bounds write, and spoofing vulnerabilities.
