Descriptions

Improper Access Control in some Intel(R) DSA before version 24.3.26.8 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.

This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Intel Driver & Support Assistant. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the Intel Driver & Support Assistant service. By creating a symbolic link, an attacker can abuse the service to create an arbitrary directory with weak permissions. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of SYSTEM.
