A deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability exists in NI VeriStand DataLogging Server that may result in remote code execution. Successful exploitation requires an attacker to send a specially crafted message. These vulnerabilities affect NI VeriStand 2024 Q2 and prior versions.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of NI VeriStand. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.

The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user.
