Descriptions

Certain HP LaserJet Pro, HP LaserJet Enterprise, and HP LaserJet Managed Printers may potentially be vulnerable to Remote Code Execution and Elevation of Privilege when processing a PostScript print job.

This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw printers. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of PostScript data. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root.
