CVE-2021-1447 – Cisco Content Security Management Appliance Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-1447
A vulnerability in the user account management system of Cisco AsyncOS for Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) could allow an authenticated, local attacker to elevate their privileges to root. This vulnerability is due to a procedural flaw in the password generation algorithm. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enabling specific Administrator-only features and connecting to the appliance through the CLI with elevated privileges. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary commands as root and access the underlying operating system. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have valid Administrator credentials. • https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-sma-priv-esc-JJ8zxQsC • CWE-269: Improper Privilege Management •
CVE-2019-1983 – Cisco Email Security Appliance and Cisco Content Security Management Appliance Denial of Service Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2019-1983
A vulnerability in the email message filtering feature of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) and Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause repeated crashes in some internal processes that are running on the affected devices, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of email attachments. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending an email message with a crafted attachment through an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause specific processes to crash repeatedly, resulting in the complete unavailability of both the Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) and message tracking features and in severe performance degradation while processing email. After the affected processes restart, the software resumes filtering for the same attachment, causing the affected processes to crash and restart again. • https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20200219-esa-sma-dos • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •
CVE-2020-3117 – Cisco Web Security Appliance and Cisco Content Security Management Appliance HTTP Header Injection Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-3117
A vulnerability in the API Framework of Cisco AsyncOS for Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) and Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to inject crafted HTTP headers in the web server's response. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to access a crafted URL and receive a malicious HTTP response. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to inject arbitrary HTTP headers into valid HTTP responses sent to a user's browser. CVE-2020-3447 – Cisco Email Security Appliance and Cisco Content Security Management Appliance Information Disclosure Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-3447
A vulnerability in the CLI of Cisco AsyncOS for Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) and Cisco AsyncOS for Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to access sensitive information on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to excessive verbosity in certain log subscriptions. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by accessing specific log files on an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to obtain sensitive log data, which may include user credentials. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker would need to have valid credentials at the operator level or higher on the affected device. • https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-esa-sma-log-YxQ6g2kG • CWE-532: Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File •
CVE-2020-3178 – Cisco Content Security Management Appliance Open Redirect Vulnerabilities
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-3178
Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based GUI of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to redirect a user to a malicious web page. The vulnerabilities are due to improper input validation of the parameters of an HTTP request. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by intercepting an HTTP request and modifying it to redirect a user to a specific malicious URL. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to redirect a user to a malicious web page or to obtain sensitive browser-based information. This type of attack is commonly referred to as an open redirect attack and is used in phishing attacks to get users to unknowingly visit malicious sites. • https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-sma-opn-rdrct-yPPMdsMQ • CWE-601: URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') •
