CVE-2020-26147 – kernel: reassembling mixed encrypted/plaintext fragments
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-26147
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel 5.8.9. The WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 implementations reassemble fragments even though some of them were sent in plaintext. This vulnerability can be abused to inject packets and/or exfiltrate selected fragments when another device sends fragmented frames and the WEP, CCMP, or GCMP data-confidentiality protocol is used. Se detectó un problema en el kernel de Linux versión 5.8.9. Las implementaciones de WEP, WPA, WPA2 y WPA3 reensamblan fragmentos aunque algunos de ellos se enviaron en texto plano. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/11/12 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-913875.pdf https://github.com/vanhoefm/fragattacks/blob/master/SUMMARY.md https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00019.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00020.html https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-wifi-faf-22epcEWu https://www.arista.com/en/support/advisories-notices/security-advisories/12602-s • CWE-307: Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts •
CVE-2020-26146 – kernel: reassembling encrypted fragments with non-consecutive packet numbers
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-26146
An issue was discovered on Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 4.4.4 devices. The WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 implementations reassemble fragments with non-consecutive packet numbers. An adversary can abuse this to exfiltrate selected fragments. This vulnerability is exploitable when another device sends fragmented frames and the WEP, CCMP, or GCMP data-confidentiality protocol is used. Note that WEP is vulnerable to this attack by design. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/11/12 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-913875.pdf https://github.com/vanhoefm/fragattacks/blob/master/SUMMARY.md https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-wifi-faf-22epcEWu https://www.arista.com/en/support/advisories-notices/security-advisories/12602-security-advisory-63 https://www.fragattacks.com https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-26146 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation CWE-307: Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts •
CVE-2018-5391 – The Linux kernel, versions 3.9+, IP implementation is vulnerable to denial of service conditions with low rates of specially modified packets
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-5391
The Linux kernel, versions 3.9+, is vulnerable to a denial of service attack with low rates of specially modified packets targeting IP fragment re-assembly. An attacker may cause a denial of service condition by sending specially crafted IP fragments. Various vulnerabilities in IP fragmentation have been discovered and fixed over the years. The current vulnerability (CVE-2018-5391) became exploitable in the Linux kernel with the increase of the IP fragment reassembly queue size. El kernel de Linux en versiones a partir de la 3.9 es vulnerable a un ataque de denegación de servicio (DoS) con tasas bajas de paquetes especialmente modificados que apuntan hacia el reensamblado de fragmentos de IP. • http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2018-004.txt http://www.huawei.com/en/psirt/security-advisories/huawei-sa-20200115-01-linux-en http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/06/28/2 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/3 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/4 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105108 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1041476 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1041637 https://access.redhat.co • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •
