CVE-2024-39292 – um: Add winch to winch_handlers before registering winch IRQ
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-39292
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: um: Add winch to winch_handlers before registering winch IRQ Registering a winch IRQ is racy, an interrupt may occur before the winch is added to the winch_handlers list. If that happens, register_winch_irq() adds to that list a winch that is scheduled to be (or has already been) freed, causing a panic later in winch_cleanup(). Avoid the race by adding the winch to the winch_handlers list before registering the IRQ, and rolling back if um_request_irq() fails. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/42a359e31a0e438b5b978a8f0fecdbd3c86bb033 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/66ea9a7c6824821476914bed21a476cd20094f33 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/dc1ff95602ee908fcd7d8acee7a0dadb61b1a0c0 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/351d1a64544944b44732f6a64ed65573b00b9e14 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/31960d991e43c8d6dc07245f19fc13398e90ead2 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0c02d425a2fbe52643a5859a779db0329e7dddd4 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/434a06c38ee1217a8baa0dd7c37cc85d50138fb0 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/73b8e21f76c7dda4905655d2e2c17dc5a • CWE-415: Double Free •
CVE-2024-38635 – soundwire: cadence: fix invalid PDI offset
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-38635
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soundwire: cadence: fix invalid PDI offset For some reason, we add an offset to the PDI, presumably to skip the PDI0 and PDI1 which are reserved for BPT. This code is however completely wrong and leads to an out-of-bounds access. We were just lucky so far since we used only a couple of PDIs and remained within the PDI array bounds. A Fixes: tag is not provided since there are no known platforms where the out-of-bounds would be accessed, and the initial code had problems as well. A follow-up patch completely removes this useless offset. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/002364b2d594a9afc0385c09e00994c510b1d089 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/fd4bcb991ebaf0d1813d81d9983cfa99f9ef5328 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/902f6d656441a511ac25c6cffce74496db10a078 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2ebcaa0e5db9b6044bb487ae1cf41bc601761567 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7eeef1e935d23db5265233d92395bd5c648a4021 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4e99103f757cdf636c6ee860994a19a346a11785 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8ee1b439b1540ae543149b15a2a61b9dff937d91 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-38635 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2024-38630 – watchdog: cpu5wdt.c: Fix use-after-free bug caused by cpu5wdt_trigger
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-38630
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watchdog: cpu5wdt.c: Fix use-after-free bug caused by cpu5wdt_trigger When the cpu5wdt module is removing, the origin code uses del_timer() to de-activate the timer. If the timer handler is running, del_timer() could not stop it and will return directly. If the port region is released by release_region() and then the timer handler cpu5wdt_trigger() calls outb() to write into the region that is released, the use-after-free bug will happen. Change del_timer() to timer_shutdown_sync() in order that the timer handler could be finished before the port region is released. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1da177e4c3f41524e886b7f1b8a0c1fc7321cac2 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9b1c063ffc075abf56f63e55d70b9778ff534314 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f19686d616500cd0d47b30cee82392b53f7f784a https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/573601521277119f2e2ba5f28ae6e87fc594f4d4 •
CVE-2021-4439 – isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-4439
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound The cmtp_add_connection() would add a cmtp session to a controller and run a kernel thread to process cmtp. __module_get(THIS_MODULE); session->task = kthread_run(cmtp_session, session, "kcmtpd_ctr_%d", session->num); During this process, the kernel thread would call detach_capi_ctr() to detach a register controller. if the controller was not attached yet, detach_capi_ctr() would trigger an array-index-out-bounds bug.
