CVE-2024-53100 – nvme: tcp: avoid race between queue_lock lock and destroy
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53100
25 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: tcp: avoid race between queue_lock lock and destroy Commit 76d54bf20cdc ("nvme-tcp: don't access released socket during error recovery") added a mutex_lock() call for the queue->queue_lock in nvme_tcp_get_address(). However, the mutex_lock() races with mutex_destroy() in nvme_tcp_free_queue(), and causes the WARN below. CVE-2024-53099 – bpf: Check validity of link->type in bpf_link_show_fdinfo()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53099
25 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Check validity of link->type in bpf_link_show_fdinfo() If a newly-added link type doesn't invoke BPF_LINK_TYPE(), accessing bpf_link_type_strs[link->type] may result in an out-of-bounds access. To spot such missed invocations early in the future, checking the validity of link->type in bpf_link_show_fdinfo() and emitting a warning when such invocations are missed. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4e8074bb33d18f56af30a0252cb3606d27eb1c13 •
CVE-2024-53094 – RDMA/siw: Add sendpage_ok() check to disable MSG_SPLICE_PAGES
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53094
21 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/siw: Add sendpage_ok() check to disable MSG_SPLICE_PAGES While running ISER over SIW, the initiator machine encounters a warning from skb_splice_from_iter() indicating that a slab page is being used in send_page. To address this, it is better to add a sendpage_ok() check within the driver itself, and if it returns 0, then MSG_SPLICE_PAGES flag should be disabled before entering the network stack. A similar issue has been discussed f... • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3406bfc813a9bbd9c3055795e985f527b7852e8c •
CVE-2024-53093 – nvme-multipath: defer partition scanning
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53093
21 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-multipath: defer partition scanning We need to suppress the partition scan from occuring within the controller's scan_work context. If a path error occurs here, the IO will wait until a path becomes available or all paths are torn down, but that action also occurs within scan_work, so it would deadlock. Defer the partion scan to a different context that does not block scan_work. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/60de2e03f984cfbcdc12fa552f95087c35a05a98 •
CVE-2024-53090 – afs: Fix lock recursion
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53090
21 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Fix lock recursion afs_wake_up_async_call() can incur lock recursion. The problem is that it is called from AF_RXRPC whilst holding the ->notify_lock, but it tries to take a ref on the afs_call struct in order to pass it to a work queue - but if the afs_call is already queued, we then have an extraneous ref that must be put... calling afs_put_call() may call back down into AF_RXRPC through rxrpc_kernel_shutdown_call(), however, whic... • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d7cbf81df996b1eae2dee8deb6df08e2eba78661 •

CVE-2024-53063 – media: dvbdev: prevent the risk of out of memory access
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53063
19 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvbdev: prevent the risk of out of memory access The dvbdev contains a static variable used to store dvb minors. The behavior of it depends if CONFIG_DVB_DYNAMIC_MINORS is set or not. When not set, dvb_register_device() won't check for boundaries, as it will rely that a previous call to dvb_register_adapter() would already be enforcing it. On a similar way, dvb_device_open() uses the assumption that the register functions already... • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5dd3f3071070f5a306bdf8d474c80062f5691cba •

https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2024-53057
19 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: stop qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog on TC_H_ROOT In qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog, Qdiscs with major handle ffff: are assumed to be either root or ingress. This assumption is bogus since it's valid to create egress qdiscs with major handle ffff: Budimir Markovic found that for qdiscs like DRR that maintain an active class list, it will cause a UAF with a dangling class pointer. 19 Nov 2024 — In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring/rw: fix missing NOWAIT check for O_DIRECT start write When io_uring starts a write, it'll call kiocb_start_write() to bump the super block rwsem, preventing any freezes from happening while that write is in-flight. The freeze side will grab that rwsem for writing, excluding any new writers from happening and waiting for existing writes to finish.
