CVE-2021-35942 – glibc: Arbitrary read in wordexp()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-35942
The wordexp function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.33 may crash or read arbitrary memory in parse_param (in posix/wordexp.c) when called with an untrusted, crafted pattern, potentially resulting in a denial of service or disclosure of information. This occurs because atoi was used but strtoul should have been used to ensure correct calculations. An integer overflow flaw was found in glibc that may result in reading of arbitrary memory when wordexp is used with a specially crafted untrusted regular expression input. • https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/10/msg00021.html https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202208-24 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210827-0005 https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28011 https://sourceware.org/git/?p=glibc.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=5adda61f62b77384718b4c0d8336ade8f2b4b35c https://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/Security%20Exceptions https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-35942 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1977975 • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound •
CVE-2021-34428 – jetty: SessionListener can prevent a session from being invalidated breaking logout
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-34428
For Eclipse Jetty versions <= 9.4.40, <= 10.0.2, <= 11.0.2, if an exception is thrown from the SessionListener#sessionDestroyed() method, then the session ID is not invalidated in the session ID manager. On deployments with clustered sessions and multiple contexts this can result in a session not being invalidated. This can result in an application used on a shared computer being left logged in. • https://github.com/eclipse/jetty.project/security/advisories/GHSA-m6cp-vxjx-65j6 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r67c4f90658fde875521c949448c54c98517beecdc7f618f902c620ec%40%3Cissues.zookeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r8a1a332899a1f92c8118b0895b144b27a78e3f25b9d58a34dd5eb084%40%3Cnotifications.zookeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/rbefa055282d52d6b58d29a79fbb0be65ab0a38d25f00bd29eaf5e6fd%40%3Cnotifications.zookeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/rddbb4f8d5db23265bb63d14ef4b3723b438abc1589f877db11d35450%40%3Cissues.zo • CWE-613: Insufficient Session Expiration •
CVE-2021-3517 – libxml2: Heap-based buffer overflow in xmlEncodeEntitiesInternal() in entities.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-3517
There is a flaw in the xml entity encoding functionality of libxml2 in versions before 2.9.11. An attacker who is able to supply a crafted file to be processed by an application linked with the affected functionality of libxml2 could trigger an out-of-bounds read. The most likely impact of this flaw is to application availability, with some potential impact to confidentiality and integrity if an attacker is able to use memory information to further exploit the application. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1954232 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r58af02e294bd07f487e2c64ffc0a29b837db5600e33b6e698b9d696b%40%3Cissues.bookkeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/rf4c02775860db415b4955778a131c2795223f61cb8c6a450893651e4%40%3Cissues.bookkeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/05/msg00008.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BZOMV5J4PMZAORVT64BKLV6YIZAFDGX6 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/pack • CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •

CVE-2021-3449 – NULL pointer deref in signature_algorithms processing
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-3449
An OpenSSL TLS server may crash if sent a maliciously crafted renegotiation ClientHello message from a client. If a TLSv1.2 renegotiation ClientHello omits the signature_algorithms extension (where it was present in the initial ClientHello), but includes a signature_algorithms_cert extension then a NULL pointer dereference will result, leading to a crash and a denial of service attack. A server is only vulnerable if it has TLSv1.2 and renegotiation enabled (which is the default configuration). OpenSSL TLS clients are not impacted by this issue. All OpenSSL 1.1.1 versions are affected by this issue. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/03/27/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/03/27/2 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/03/28/3 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/03/28/4 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-772220.pdf https://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git%3Ba=commitdiff%3Bh=fb9fa6b51defd48157eeb207f52181f735d96148 https://kb.pulse • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
