CVE-2020-11501 – gnutls: DTLS client hello contains a random value of all zeroes
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-11501
GnuTLS 3.6.x before 3.6.13 uses incorrect cryptography for DTLS. The earliest affected version is 3.6.3 (2018-07-16) because of an error in a 2017-10-06 commit. The DTLS client always uses 32 '\0' bytes instead of a random value, and thus contributes no randomness to a DTLS negotiation. This breaks the security guarantees of the DTLS protocol. GnuTLS versiones 3.6.x anteriores a 3.6.13, usa una criptografía incorrecta para DTLS. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-04/msg00015.html https://gitlab.com/gnutls/gnutls/-/commit/5b595e8e52653f6c5726a4cdd8fddeb6e83804d2 https://gitlab.com/gnutls/gnutls/-/issues/960 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/ILMOWPKMTZAIMK5F32TUMO34XCABUCFJ https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/WDYY3R4F5CUTFAMXH2C5NKYFVDEJLTT7 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202004-06 https://security.netapp.com/advis • CWE-327: Use of a Broken or Risky Cryptographic Algorithm CWE-330: Use of Insufficiently Random Values •
CVE-2020-11494
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-11494
An issue was discovered in slc_bump in drivers/net/can/slcan.c in the Linux kernel 3.16 through 5.6.2. It allows attackers to read uninitialized can_frame data, potentially containing sensitive information from kernel stack memory, if the configuration lacks CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL, aka CID-b9258a2cece4.
CVE-2020-8833 – Apport race condition in crash report permissions
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-8833
Time-of-check Time-of-use Race Condition vulnerability on crash report ownership change in Apport allows for a possible privilege escalation opportunity. If fs.protected_symlinks is disabled, this can be exploited between the os.open and os.chown calls when the Apport cron script clears out crash files of size 0. A symlink with the same name as the deleted file can then be created upon which chown will be called, changing the file owner to root. Fixed in versions 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.23, 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.14, 2.20.11-0ubuntu8.8 and 2.20.11-0ubuntu22. Una vulnerabilidad de Condición de Carrera de tipo Time-of-check Time-of-use en el cambio de propiedad del reporte de bloqueo en Apport, permite una posible oportunidad de escalada de privilegios. • https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1862933 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4315-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4315-2 • CWE-367: Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition •
CVE-2020-8831 – World writable root owned lock file created in user controllable location
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-8831
Apport creates a world writable lock file with root ownership in the world writable /var/lock/apport directory. If the apport/ directory does not exist (this is not uncommon as /var/lock is a tmpfs), it will create the directory, otherwise it will simply continue execution using the existing directory. This allows for a symlink attack if an attacker were to create a symlink at /var/lock/apport, changing apport's lock file location. This file could then be used to escalate privileges, for example. Fixed in versions 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.23, 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.14, 2.20.11-0ubuntu8.8 and 2.20.11-0ubuntu22. • https://launchpad.net/bugs/1862348 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4315-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4315-2 • CWE-59: Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') CWE-379: Creation of Temporary File in Directory with Insecure Permissions •
CVE-2020-11100 – haproxy: malformed HTTP/2 requests can lead to out-of-bounds writes
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-11100
In hpack_dht_insert in hpack-tbl.c in the HPACK decoder in HAProxy 1.8 through 2.x before 2.1.4, a remote attacker can write arbitrary bytes around a certain location on the heap via a crafted HTTP/2 request, possibly causing remote code execution. A flaw was found in the way HAProxy processed certain HTTP/2 request packets. This flaw allows an attacker to send crafted HTTP/2 request packets, which cause memory corruption, leading to a crash or potential remote arbitrary code execution with the permissions of the user running HAProxy. The haproxy hpack implementation in hpack-tbl.c handles 0-length HTTP headers incorrectly. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-04/msg00002.html http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/157323/haproxy-hpack-tbl.c-Out-Of-Bounds-Write.html http://www.haproxy.org https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1819111 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1168023 https://git.haproxy.org/?p=haproxy.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=5dfc5d5cd0d2128d77253ead3acf03a421ab5b88 https://lists.debian.org/debian-security-announce/2020/msg00052.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/packag • CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
