LibTIFF 4.3.0 has an out-of-bounds read in _TIFFmemcpy in tif_unix.c in certain situations involving a custom tag and 0x0200 as the second word of the DE field. A buffer overflow vulnerability was found in libtiff. This flaw allows an attacker with network access to pass specially crafted files, causing an application to halt or crash. The root cause of this issue was from the memcpy function in tif_unix.c. • https://gitlab.com/libtiff/libtiff/-/issues/355 https://gitlab.com/libtiff/libtiff/-/merge_requests/287 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/03/msg00001.html https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202210-10 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220311-0002 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5108 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-22844 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2042603 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •

stab_xcoff_builtin_type in stabs.c in GNU Binutils through 2.37 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer overflow) or possibly have unspecified other impact, as demonstrated by an out-of-bounds write. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incorrect fix for CVE-2018-12699.

Internally libssl in OpenSSL calls X509_verify_cert() on the client side to verify a certificate supplied by a server. That function may return a negative return value to indicate an internal error (for example out of memory). Such a negative return value is mishandled by OpenSSL and will cause an IO function (such as SSL_connect() or SSL_do_handshake()) to not indicate success and a subsequent call to SSL_get_error() to return the value SSL_ERROR_WANT_RETRY_VERIFY. This return value is only supposed to be returned by OpenSSL if the application has previously called SSL_CTX_set_cert_verify_callback(). Since most applications do not do this the SSL_ERROR_WANT_RETRY_VERIFY return value from SSL_get_error() will be totally unexpected and applications may not behave correctly as a result. • https://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git%3Ba=commitdiff%3Bh=758754966791c537ea95241438454aa86f91f256 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20211229-0003 https://www.openssl.org/news/secadv/20211214.txt • CWE-835: Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') •

A null pointer de-reference was found in the way samba kerberos server handled missing sname in TGS-REQ (Ticket Granting Server - Request). An authenticated user could use this flaw to crash the samba server. An improper locking issue was found in the virStoragePoolLookupByTargetPath API of libvirt. It occurs in the storagePoolLookupByTargetPath function where a locked virStoragePoolObj object is not properly released on ACL permission failure. Clients connecting to the read-write socket with limited ACL permissions could use this flaw to acquire the lock and prevent other users from accessing storage pool/volume APIs, resulting in a denial of service condition. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
