CVE-2021-21347 – XStream is vulnerable to an Arbitrary Code Execution attack
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-21347
XStream is a Java library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In XStream before version 1.4.16, there is a vulnerability which may allow a remote attacker to load and execute arbitrary code from a remote host only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. If you rely on XStream's default blacklist of the Security Framework, you will have to use at least version 1.4.16. • http://x-stream.github.io/changes.html#1.4.16 https://github.com/x-stream/xstream/security/advisories/GHSA-qpfq-ph7r-qv6f https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r8244fd0831db894d5e89911ded9c72196d395a90ae655414d23ed0dd%40%3Cusers.activemq.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r9ac71b047767205aa22e3a08cb33f3e0586de6b2fac48b425c6e16b0%40%3Cdev.jmeter.apache.org%3E https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/04/msg00002.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message • CWE-434: Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type CWE-502: Deserialization of Untrusted Data •
CVE-2021-28971 – kernel: System crash in intel_pmu_drain_pebs_nhm in arch/x86/events/intel/ds.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-28971
In intel_pmu_drain_pebs_nhm in arch/x86/events/intel/ds.c in the Linux kernel through 5.11.8 on some Haswell CPUs, userspace applications (such as perf-fuzzer) can cause a system crash because the PEBS status in a PEBS record is mishandled, aka CID-d88d05a9e0b6. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. CVE-2021-28972
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-28972
In drivers/pci/hotplug/rpadlpar_sysfs.c in the Linux kernel through 5.11.8, the RPA PCI Hotplug driver has a user-tolerable buffer overflow when writing a new device name to the driver from userspace, allowing userspace to write data to the kernel stack frame directly. This occurs because add_slot_store and remove_slot_store mishandle drc_name '\0' termination, aka CID-cc7a0bb058b8.
CVE-2021-28964
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-28964
A race condition was discovered in get_old_root in fs/btrfs/ctree.c in the Linux kernel through 5.11.8. It allows attackers to cause a denial of service (BUG) because of a lack of locking on an extent buffer before a cloning operation, aka CID-dbcc7d57bffc.
CVE-2021-28957 – python-lxml: Missing input sanitization for formaction HTML5 attributes may lead to XSS
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-28957
An XSS vulnerability was discovered in python-lxml's clean module versions before 4.6.3. When disabling the safe_attrs_only and forms arguments, the Cleaner class does not remove the formaction attribute allowing for JS to bypass the sanitizer. A remote attacker could exploit this flaw to run arbitrary JS code on users who interact with incorrectly sanitized HTML. This issue is patched in lxml 4.6.3. • https://bugs.launchpad.net/lxml/+bug/1888153 https://github.com/lxml/lxml/commit/a5f9cb52079dc57477c460dbe6ba0f775e14a999 https://github.com/lxml/lxml/pull/316/commits/10ec1b4e9f93713513a3264ed6158af22492f270 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/03/msg00031.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/3C2R44VDUY7FJVMAVRZ2WY7XYL4SVN45 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/XXN3QPWCTQVOGW4BMWV3AUUZZ4NRZNSQ https://security • CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') •
