CVE-2016-0800 – SSL/TLS: Cross-protocol attack on TLS using SSLv2 (DROWN)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-0800
The SSLv2 protocol, as used in OpenSSL before 1.0.1s and 1.0.2 before 1.0.2g and other products, requires a server to send a ServerVerify message before establishing that a client possesses certain plaintext RSA data, which makes it easier for remote attackers to decrypt TLS ciphertext data by leveraging a Bleichenbacher RSA padding oracle, aka a "DROWN" attack. A padding oracle flaw was found in the Secure Sockets Layer version 2.0 (SSLv2) protocol. An attacker could potentially use this flaw to decrypt RSA-encrypted cipher text from a connection using a newer SSL/TLS protocol version, allowing them to decrypt such connections. This cross-protocol attack is publicly referred to as DROWN. • http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10722 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10759 http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00001.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00002.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00003.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00004.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00005.html http: • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor CWE-310: Cryptographic Issues •
CVE-2015-3197 – OpenSSL: SSLv2 doesn't block disabled ciphers
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2015-3197
ssl/s2_srvr.c in OpenSSL 1.0.1 before 1.0.1r and 1.0.2 before 1.0.2f does not prevent use of disabled ciphers, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to defeat cryptographic protection mechanisms by performing computations on SSLv2 traffic, related to the get_client_master_key and get_client_hello functions. ssl/s2_srvr.c en OpenSSL 1.0.1 en versiones anteriores a 1.0.1r y 1.0.2 en versiones anteriores a 1.0.2f no impide el uso de cifrados deshabilitados, lo que hace que sea más fácil para atacantes man-in-the-middle vencer los mecanismos de protección criptográfica llevando a cabo cálculos sobre tráfico SSLv2, relacionado con las funciones get_client_master_key y get_client_hello. A flaw was found in the way malicious SSLv2 clients could negotiate SSLv2 ciphers that were disabled on the server. This could result in weak SSLv2 ciphers being used for SSLv2 connections, making them vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks. • http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10759 http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2016-January/176373.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00001.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00002.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00003.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00004.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00 • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor CWE-310: Cryptographic Issues •
CVE-2016-0701
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-0701
The DH_check_pub_key function in crypto/dh/dh_check.c in OpenSSL 1.0.2 before 1.0.2f does not ensure that prime numbers are appropriate for Diffie-Hellman (DH) key exchange, which makes it easier for remote attackers to discover a private DH exponent by making multiple handshakes with a peer that chose an inappropriate number, as demonstrated by a number in an X9.42 file. • http://intothesymmetry.blogspot.com/2016/01/openssl-key-recovery-attack-on-dh-small.html http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10759 http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2016-January/176373.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00009.html http://www.openssl.org/news/secadv/20160128.txt http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2016-2881720.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuoct2017-3236626.html ht • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2015-3193
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2015-3193
The Montgomery squaring implementation in crypto/bn/asm/x86_64-mont5.pl in OpenSSL 1.0.2 before 1.0.2e on the x86_64 platform, as used by the BN_mod_exp function, mishandles carry propagation and produces incorrect output, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain sensitive private-key information via an attack against use of a (1) Diffie-Hellman (DH) or (2) Diffie-Hellman Ephemeral (DHE) ciphersuite. • http://fortiguard.com/advisory/openssl-advisory-december-2015 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10759 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10761 http://openssl.org/news/secadv/20151203.txt http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20151204-openssl http://www.fortiguard.com/advisory/openssl-advisory-december-2015 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuapr2016v3-2985753.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2015-3195 – OpenSSL: X509_ATTRIBUTE memory leak
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2015-3195
The ASN1_TFLG_COMBINE implementation in crypto/asn1/tasn_dec.c in OpenSSL before 0.9.8zh, 1.0.0 before 1.0.0t, 1.0.1 before 1.0.1q, and 1.0.2 before 1.0.2e mishandles errors caused by malformed X509_ATTRIBUTE data, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from process memory by triggering a decoding failure in a PKCS#7 or CMS application. A memory leak vulnerability was found in the way OpenSSL parsed PKCS#7 and CMS data. A remote attacker could use this flaw to cause an application that parses PKCS#7 or CMS data from untrusted sources to use an excessive amount of memory and possibly crash. • http://fortiguard.com/advisory/openssl-advisory-december-2015 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10733 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10759 http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=JSA10761 http://lists.apple.com/archives/security-announce/2016/Mar/msg00004.html http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2015-December/173801.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-03/msg00009.html http://lists.opensuse& • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor CWE-401: Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime •
