CVE-2023-22396 – Junos OS: Receipt of crafted TCP packets destined to the device results in MBUF leak leading to a Denial of Service (DoS)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-22396
An Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in TCP processing on the Routing Engine (RE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker to send crafted TCP packets destined to the device, resulting in an MBUF leak that ultimately leads to a Denial of Service (DoS). The system does not recover automatically and must be manually restarted to restore service. This issue occurs when crafted TCP packets are sent directly to a configured IPv4 or IPv6 interface on the device. Transit traffic will not trigger this issue. MBUF usage can be monitored through the use of the 'show system buffers' command. • https://kb.juniper.net/JSA70192 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption •
CVE-2022-22230 – Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: RPD crash upon receipt of specific OSPFv3 LSAs
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-22230
An Improper Input Validation vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent unauthenticated attacker to cause DoS (Denial of Service). If another router generates more than one specific valid OSPFv3 LSA then rpd will crash while processing these LSAs. This issue only affects systems configured with OSPFv3, while OSPFv2 is not affected. This issue affects: Juniper Networks Junos OS 19.2 versions prior to 19.2R3-S6; 19.3 version 19.3R2 and later versions; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R2-S8, 19.4R3-S9; 20.1 version 20.1R1 and later versions; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R3-S5; 20.3 versions prior to 20.3R3-S5; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3-S4; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R3-S2; 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R3-S1; 21.3 versions prior to 21.3R3-S2; 21.4 versions prior to 21.4R2. Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved All versions prior to 20.4R3-S5-EVO; 21.1-EVO versions prior to 21.1R3-S2-EVO; 21.2-EVO versions prior to 21.2R3-S1-EVO; 21.3-EVO versions prior to 21.3R3-S2-EVO; 21.4-EVO versions prior to 21.4R2-EVO; 22.1-EVO versions prior to 22.1R2-EVO; 22.2-EVO versions prior to 22.2R2-EVO. • https://kb.juniper.net/JSA69884 • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •
CVE-2022-22219 – Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: RPD core upon receipt of a specific EVPN route by a BGP route reflector in an EVPN environment
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-22219
Due to the Improper Handling of an Unexpected Data Type in the processing of EVPN routes on Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved, an attacker in direct control of a BGP client connected to a route reflector, or via a machine in the middle (MITM) attack, can send a specific EVPN route contained within a BGP Update, triggering a routing protocol daemon (RPD) crash, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Continued receipt and processing of these specific EVPN routes could create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. This issue only occurs on BGP route reflectors, only within a BGP EVPN multicast environment, and only when one or more BGP clients have 'leave-sync-route-oldstyle' enabled. This issue affects: Juniper Networks Junos OS 21.3 versions prior to 21.3R3-S2; 21.4 versions prior to 21.4R2-S2, 21.4R3; 22.1 versions prior to 22.1R1-S2, 22.1R3; 22.2 versions prior to 22.2R2. Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved 21.3 version 21.3R1-EVO and later versions prior to 21.4R3-EVO; 22.1 versions prior to 22.1R1-S2-EVO, 22.1R3-EVO; 22.2 versions prior to 22.2R2-EVO. • https://kb.juniper.net/JSA69898 https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/evpn-vxlan/topics/ref/statement/evpn-edit-routing-instances-protocols.html • CWE-241: Improper Handling of Unexpected Data Type •
CVE-2021-25220 – DNS forwarders - cache poisoning vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-25220
BIND 9.11.0 -> 9.11.36 9.12.0 -> 9.16.26 9.17.0 -> 9.18.0 BIND Supported Preview Editions: 9.11.4-S1 -> 9.11.36-S1 9.16.8-S1 -> 9.16.26-S1 Versions of BIND 9 earlier than those shown - back to 9.1.0, including Supported Preview Editions - are also believed to be affected but have not been tested as they are EOL. The cache could become poisoned with incorrect records leading to queries being made to the wrong servers, which might also result in false information being returned to clients. A cache poisoning vulnerability was found in BIND when using forwarders. Bogus NS records supplied by the forwarders may be cached and used by name if it needs to recurse for any reason. • https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-637483.pdf https://kb.isc.org/v1/docs/cve-2021-25220 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/2SXT7247QTKNBQ67MNRGZD23ADXU6E5U https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/5VX3I2U3ICOIEI5Y7OYA6CHOLFMNH3YQ https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/API7U5E7SX7BAAVFNW366FFJGD6NZZKV https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announc • CWE-444: Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request/Response Smuggling') •
