CVE-2014-1738 – kernel: block: floppy: privilege escalation via FDRAWCMD floppy ioctl command
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2014-1738
The raw_cmd_copyout function in drivers/block/floppy.c in the Linux kernel through 3.14.3 does not properly restrict access to certain pointers during processing of an FDRAWCMD ioctl call, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel heap memory by leveraging write access to a /dev/fd device. A flaw was found in the way the Linux kernel's floppy driver handled user space provided data in certain error code paths while processing FDRAWCMD IOCTL commands. A local user with write access to /dev/fdX could use this flaw to free (using the kfree() function) arbitrary kernel memory. (CVE-2014-1737, Important) It was found that the Linux kernel's floppy driver leaked internal kernel memory addresses to user space during the processing of the FDRAWCMD IOCTL command. • http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=2145e15e0557a01b9195d1c7199a1b92cb9be81f http://linux.oracle.com/errata/ELSA-2014-0771.html http://linux.oracle.com/errata/ELSA-2014-3043.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2014-05/msg00007.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2014-05/msg00012.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0800.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0801.html http://secunia.com • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2014-0196 – Linux Kernel Race Condition Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2014-0196
The n_tty_write function in drivers/tty/n_tty.c in the Linux kernel through 3.14.3 does not properly manage tty driver access in the "LECHO & !OPOST" case, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash) or gain privileges by triggering a race condition involving read and write operations with long strings. Linux Kernel contains a race condition vulnerability within the n_tty_write function that allows local users to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) or gain privileges via read and write operations with long strings. • https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/33516 https://github.com/tempbottle/CVE-2014-0196 https://github.com/SunRain/CVE-2014-0196 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=875690 http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=4291086b1f081b869c6d79e5b7441633dc3ace00 http://linux.oracle.com/errata/ELSA-2014-0771.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2014-05/msg00007.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2014-05/msg0001 • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') •
CVE-2014-0101 – kernel: net: sctp: null pointer dereference when processing authenticated cookie_echo chunk
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2014-0101
The sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce function in net/sctp/sm_statefuns.c in the Linux kernel through 3.13.6 does not validate certain auth_enable and auth_capable fields before making an sctp_sf_authenticate call, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) via an SCTP handshake with a modified INIT chunk and a crafted AUTH chunk before a COOKIE_ECHO chunk. A flaw was found in the way the Linux kernel processed an authenticated COOKIE_ECHO chunk during the initialization of an SCTP connection. A remote attacker could use this flaw to crash the system by initiating a specially crafted SCTP handshake in order to trigger a NULL pointer dereference on the system. • http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=ec0223ec48a90cb605244b45f7c62de856403729 http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0328.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0419.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0432.html http://secunia.com/advisories/59216 http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/15000/300/sol15317.html http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2014/03/04/6 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/65943 h • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
CVE-2013-1896 – httpd: mod_dav DoS (httpd child process crash) via a URI MERGE request with source URI not handled by mod_dav
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2013-1896
mod_dav.c in the Apache HTTP Server before 2.2.25 does not properly determine whether DAV is enabled for a URI, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault) via a MERGE request in which the URI is configured for handling by the mod_dav_svn module, but a certain href attribute in XML data refers to a non-DAV URI. mod_dav.c en el Apache HTTP Server anterior a 2.2.25 no determina adecuadamente si DAV está activado para URI, lo que permite a atacantes remotos provocar una denegación de servicio (corrupción de memoria) a través de una petición MERGE en la que la URI está configurada para manejarse con el módulo mod_dav_svn, pero determinados atributos href en los datos XML se refieren a una URI que no es del tipo DAV. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-updates/2013-08/msg00026.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-updates/2013-08/msg00029.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-updates/2013-08/msg00030.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2013-1156.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2013-1207.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2013-1208.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2013-1209.html http://secunia.com/advisories/55032 http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6150 http:/ •
CVE-2013-1690 – Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird Denial-of-Service Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2013-1690
Mozilla Firefox before 22.0, Firefox ESR 17.x before 17.0.7, Thunderbird before 17.0.7, and Thunderbird ESR 17.x before 17.0.7 do not properly handle onreadystatechange events in conjunction with page reloading, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted web site that triggers an attempt to execute data at an unmapped memory location. Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird do not properly handle onreadystatechange events in conjunction with page reloading, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) or possibly execute malicious code via a crafted web site. • https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/27429 http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00003.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00004.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00005.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00006.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00010.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2013-07/msg00011.html http://rhn • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer •
