CVE-2017-5428 – Mozilla Firefox createImageBitmap Integer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-5428
An integer overflow in "createImageBitmap()" was reported through the Pwn2Own contest. The fix for this vulnerability disables the experimental extensions to the "createImageBitmap" API. This function runs in the content sandbox, requiring a second vulnerability to compromise a user's computer. This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR < 52.0.1 and Firefox < 52.0.1. • http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0558.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/96959 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1038060 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1348168 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2017-08 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2017-5428 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1433202 • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound •
CVE-2016-10196 – libevent: Stack-buffer overflow in evutil_parse_sockaddr_port()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-10196
Stack-based buffer overflow in the evutil_parse_sockaddr_port function in evutil.c in libevent before 2.1.6-beta allows attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault) via vectors involving a long string in brackets in the ip_as_string argument. A vulnerability was found in libevent with the parsing of IPv6 addresses. If an attacker could cause an application using libevent to parse a malformed address in IPv6 notation of more than 2GiB in length, a stack overflow would occur leading to a crash. • http://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3789 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2017/01/31/17 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2017/02/02/7 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/96014 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1038320 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017:1104 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017:1106 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017:1201 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1343453 https://github.com/libeve • CWE-121: Stack-based Buffer Overflow CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
CVE-2017-5401 – Mozilla: Memory Corruption when handling ErrorResult (MFSA 2017-06)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-5401
A crash triggerable by web content in which an "ErrorResult" references unassigned memory due to a logic error. The resulting crash may be exploitable. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 52, Firefox ESR < 45.8, Thunderbird < 52, and Thunderbird < 45.8. • http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0459.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0461.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0498.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/96677 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1037966 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1328861 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-06 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-07 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3805 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3832 https • CWE-388: 7PK - Errors •
CVE-2017-5407 – Mozilla: Pixel and history stealing via floating-point timing side channel with SVG filters (MFSA 2017-06)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-5407
Using SVG filters that don't use the fixed point math implementation on a target iframe, a malicious page can extract pixel values from a targeted user. This can be used to extract history information and read text values across domains. This violates same-origin policy and leads to information disclosure. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 52, Firefox ESR < 45.8, Thunderbird < 52, and Thunderbird < 45.8. • http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0459.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0461.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0498.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/96693 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1037966 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1336622 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-06 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-07 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3805 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3832 https • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2017-5400 – Mozilla: asm.js JIT-spray bypass of ASLR and DEP (MFSA 2017-06)
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-5400
JIT-spray targeting asm.js combined with a heap spray allows for a bypass of ASLR and DEP protections leading to potential memory corruption attacks. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 52, Firefox ESR < 45.8, Thunderbird < 52, and Thunderbird < 45.8. • http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0459.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0461.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0498.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/96654 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1037966 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1334933 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-06 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201705-07 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3805 https://www.debian.org/security/2017/dsa-3832 https • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer •
