If a web application sends a WebSocket message concurrently with the WebSocket connection closing when running on Apache Tomcat 8.5.0 to 8.5.75 or Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.20, it is possible that the application will continue to use the socket after it has been closed. The error handling triggered in this case could cause the a pooled object to be placed in the pool twice. This could result in subsequent connections using the same object concurrently which could result in data being returned to the wrong use and/or other errors. • https://lists.apache.org/thread/6ckmjfb1k61dyzkto9vm2k5jvt4o7w7c https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220629-0003 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-25762 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2085304 • CWE-226: Sensitive Information in Resource Not Removed Before Reuse CWE-404: Improper Resource Shutdown or Release •

The documentation of Apache Tomcat 10.1.0-M1 to 10.1.0-M14, 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.20, 9.0.13 to 9.0.62 and 8.5.38 to 8.5.78 for the EncryptInterceptor incorrectly stated it enabled Tomcat clustering to run over an untrusted network. This was not correct. While the EncryptInterceptor does provide confidentiality and integrity protection, it does not protect against all risks associated with running over any untrusted network, particularly DoS risks. The fix for bug CVE-2020-9484 introduced a time of check, time of use vulnerability into Apache Tomcat 10.1.0-M1 to 10.1.0-M8, 10.0.0-M5 to 10.0.14, 9.0.35 to 9.0.56 and 8.5.55 to 8.5.73 that allowed a local attacker to perform actions with the privileges of the user that the Tomcat process is using. This issue is only exploitable when Tomcat is configured to persist sessions using the FileStore. The fix for bug 63362 present in Apache Tomcat 10.1.0-M1 to 10.1.0-M5, 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.11, 9.0.40 to 9.0.53 and 8.5.60 to 8.5.71 introduced a memory leak. The object introduced to collect metrics for HTTP upgrade connections was not released for WebSocket connections once the connection was closed. This created a memory leak that, over time, could lead to a denial of service via an OutOfMemoryError. • https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=SB10379 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r8097a2d1550aa78e585fc77e602b9046e6d4099d8d132497c5387784%40%3Ccommits.myfaces.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r83a35be60f06aca2065f188ee542b9099695d57ced2e70e0885f905c%40%3Cannounce.tomcat.apache.org%3E https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202208-34 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20211104-0001 https://www.debian.org/security/2021/dsa-5009 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022.html https://www • CWE-772: Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime •

Apache Tomcat 8.5.0 to 8.5.63, 9.0.0-M1 to 9.0.43 and 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.2 did not properly validate incoming TLS packets. When Tomcat was configured to use NIO+OpenSSL or NIO2+OpenSSL for TLS, a specially crafted packet could be used to trigger an infinite loop resulting in a denial of service. Apache Tomcat versiones 8.5.0 hasta 8.5.63, versiones 9.0.0-M1 hasta 9.0.43 y versiones 10.0.0-M1 hasta 10.0.2, no comprueban apropiadamente los paquetes TLS entrantes.
