CVE-2022-24736 – A Malformed Lua script can crash Redis
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-24736
Redis is an in-memory database that persists on disk. Prior to versions 6.2.7 and 7.0.0, an attacker attempting to load a specially crafted Lua script can cause NULL pointer dereference which will result with a crash of the redis-server process. The problem is fixed in Redis versions 7.0.0 and 6.2.7. An additional workaround to mitigate this problem without patching the redis-server executable, if Lua scripting is not being used, is to block access to `SCRIPT LOAD` and `EVAL` commands using ACL rules. CVE-2022-24735 – Lua scripts can be manipulated to overcome ACL rules in Redis
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2022-24735
Redis is an in-memory database that persists on disk. By exploiting weaknesses in the Lua script execution environment, an attacker with access to Redis prior to version 7.0.0 or 6.2.7 can inject Lua code that will execute with the (potentially higher) privileges of another Redis user. The Lua script execution environment in Redis provides some measures that prevent a script from creating side effects that persist and can affect the execution of the same, or different script, at a later time. Several weaknesses of these measures have been publicly known for a long time, but they had no security impact as the Redis security model did not endorse the concept of users or privileges. With the introduction of ACLs in Redis 6.0, these weaknesses can be exploited by a less privileged users to inject Lua code that will execute at a later time, when a privileged user executes a Lua script. • https://github.com/redis/redis/pull/10651 https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/6.2.7 https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/7.0.0 https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-647m-2wmq-qmvq https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/J4ZK3675DGHVVDOFLJN7WX6YYH27GPMK https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/VPYKSG7LKUJGVM2P72EHXKVRVRWHLORX https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/ • CWE-94: Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') •
CVE-2021-41099 – Integer overflow issue with strings in Redis
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-41099
Redis is an open source, in-memory database that persists on disk. An integer overflow bug in the underlying string library can be used to corrupt the heap and potentially result with denial of service or remote code execution. The vulnerability involves changing the default proto-max-bulk-len configuration parameter to a very large value and constructing specially crafted network payloads or commands. The problem is fixed in Redis versions 6.2.6, 6.0.16 and 5.0.14. An additional workaround to mitigate the problem without patching the redis-server executable is to prevent users from modifying the proto-max-bulk-len configuration parameter. • https://github.com/redis/redis/commit/c6ad876774f3cc11e32681ea02a2eead00f2c521 https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-j3cr-9h5g-6cph https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/HTYQ5ZF37HNGTZWVNJD3VXP7I6MEEF42 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/VL5KXFN3ATM7IIM7Q4O4PWTSRGZ5744Z https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/WR5WKJWXD4D6S3DJCZ56V74ESLTDQRAB https://security.gentoo.org/gls • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound CWE-680: Integer Overflow to Buffer Overflow CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
CVE-2021-32762 – Integer overflow that can lead to heap overflow in redis-cli, redis-sentinel on some platforms
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-32762
Redis is an open source, in-memory database that persists on disk. The redis-cli command line tool and redis-sentinel service may be vulnerable to integer overflow when parsing specially crafted large multi-bulk network replies. This is a result of a vulnerability in the underlying hiredis library which does not perform an overflow check before calling the calloc() heap allocation function. This issue only impacts systems with heap allocators that do not perform their own overflow checks. Most modern systems do and are therefore not likely to be affected. • https://github.com/redis/redis/commit/0215324a66af949be39b34be2d55143232c1cb71 https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-833w-8v3m-8wwr https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/HTYQ5ZF37HNGTZWVNJD3VXP7I6MEEF42 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/VL5KXFN3ATM7IIM7Q4O4PWTSRGZ5744Z https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/WR5WKJWXD4D6S3DJCZ56V74ESLTDQRAB https://security.gentoo.org/gls • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound CWE-680: Integer Overflow to Buffer Overflow •
CVE-2021-32687 – Integer overflow issue with intsets in Redis
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-32687
Redis is an open source, in-memory database that persists on disk. An integer overflow bug affecting all versions of Redis can be exploited to corrupt the heap and potentially be used to leak arbitrary contents of the heap or trigger remote code execution. The vulnerability involves changing the default set-max-intset-entries configuration parameter to a very large value and constructing specially crafted commands to manipulate sets. The problem is fixed in Redis versions 6.2.6, 6.0.16 and 5.0.14. An additional workaround to mitigate the problem without patching the redis-server executable is to prevent users from modifying the set-max-intset-entries configuration parameter. • https://github.com/redis/redis/commit/a30d367a71b7017581cf1ca104242a3c644dec0f https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-m3mf-8x9w-r27q https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/HTYQ5ZF37HNGTZWVNJD3VXP7I6MEEF42 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/VL5KXFN3ATM7IIM7Q4O4PWTSRGZ5744Z https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/WR5WKJWXD4D6S3DJCZ56V74ESLTDQRAB https://security.gentoo.org/gls • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound CWE-680: Integer Overflow to Buffer Overflow CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
