Vulnerability in the Java SE, Java SE Embedded component of Oracle Java SE (subcomponent: Utilities). Supported versions that are affected are Java SE: 7u221, 8u212, 11.0.3 and 12.0.1; Java SE Embedded: 8u211. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Java SE, Java SE Embedded. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets (in Java SE 8), that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-08/msg00038.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-08/msg00044.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2019-5072835.html https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2494 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2495 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2585 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2590 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2592 https://access.redhat.com •

Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Java SE, Java SE Embedded, attacks may significantly impact additional products. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Java SE, Java SE Embedded accessible data. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-08/msg00038.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-08/msg00044.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2019-5072835.html https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2585 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2590 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2592 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2737 https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_ •

The virConnectBaselineHypervisorCPU() and virConnectCompareHypervisorCPU() libvirt APIs, 4.x.x before 4.10.1 and 5.x.x before 5.4.1, accept an "emulator" argument to specify the program providing emulation for a domain. Since v1.2.19, libvirt will execute that program to probe the domain's capabilities. Read-only clients could specify an arbitrary path for this argument, causing libvirtd to execute a crafted executable with its own privileges. • https://access.redhat.com/libvirt-privesc-vulnerabilities https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2019-10168 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202003-18 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2019-10168 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1720118 • CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') CWE-250: Execution with Unnecessary Privileges CWE-284: Improper Access Control •

It was discovered that libvirtd, versions 4.x.x before 4.10.1 and 5.x.x before 5.4.1, would permit readonly clients to use the virDomainManagedSaveDefineXML() API, which would permit them to modify managed save state files. If a managed save had already been created by a privileged user, a local attacker could modify this file such that libvirtd would execute an arbitrary program when the domain was resumed.
